KOPPAL: Some Group-D women employees at the office of the Superintendent of Police here have alleged continued sexual harassment by the assistant administrative officer and inaction by the authorities despite lodging a complaint.
The women complained that they are subjected to sexual harassment by Mallinath when they want to avail leave. He also harasses widows who have been given jobs on compassionate grounds. If they do not comply, then their employment benefits are curtailed, they alleged.
The women said that Mallinath’s acts have be captured on CCTV cameras and a complaint was lodged way back in 2019 detailing the harassment they face. But the previous SP served him a show-cause notice and did nothing later, they claimed.
After the previous SP was transferred, Mallinath again resorted to harassment. Though a complaint was lodged three years ago, no action has been taken against him. Moreover, the Deputy SP submitted a report stating that no such thing has happened.
Though the matter was raised with the present SP Arunangshu Giri, nothing has been done, the women claimed.
