BENGALURU: Within 48 hours of the double murder case in Koramanagala, the police have arrested three people and recovered stolen cash and golden items, Police Commissioner Pratap Reddy announced on Tuesday.

Addressing a press conference, the police chief said, “The prime accused is Jagadish, who used to work for the house owner Rajashekhar Reddy. It was a well-planned murder. They first disabled the CCTV cameras and even knew where the cash and valuables were kept”.

The deceased person Kariyappa, a cook and security guard Dil Bahadur

On Saturday night, two men were killed by unidentified persons at contractor Rajashekar Reddy’s house at 6th Block, Koramangala, and 100 gm of gold and Rs 5 lakh in cash were stolen.

Cook Kariyappa was living in the house as the owner had gone to a relative’s house, while Dil Bahadur was the security guard. Initially, the police suspected that Dil Bahadur was the accused as he was nowhere near the house. But later, the police found his body inside the sump.

Interestingly, the footprints of another person were found at the crime scene. Also, the tower location revealed the presence of three people near Reddy’s house at the time of the murder. The police finally traced Jagadish, who was earlier working as a driver for Reddy, but had been removed from the job.

During spot inspection, police noticed that the attackers had not broken any door and had gained entry from the rear door. This led them to believe that the crime was committed by some persons who had knowledge about the house.

Jagadish allegedly used to roam around with girls and about three montsh ago, he had taken his girlfriend on a trip in Reddy’s luxury car. On coming to know about this, Reddy removed him from the job.

Jagadish had all details about the businessman and his family’s movements. He was arrested along with two of his accomplices. Police sources said it was an act of revenge and Jagadish is being questioned further.
