The Virabhadreshwar chariot collapsed during the temple's annual fair on Tuesday.

CHAMARAJANAGAR: Thousands of devotees participating in the annual car festival of Lord Veerabhadreshwara had a lucky escape after the chariot which they were pulling, toppled suddenly, at Channappanapur in Chamarajanagar taluk on Tuesday.

Thousands of devotees who had thronged the temple had a lucky escape.

There were thousands of devotees in the temple vicinity when the chariot was being pulled. Luckily, some of the devotees noticed that the chariot wheel was breaking and ran away. The top part of the chariot then suddenly collapsed.

No casualties were reported due to the presence of mind of the devotees.
