HASSAN: Three people had a lucky escape after fire broke out at the Yettinahole project pump house in Mogannahalli village, Sakleshpur taluk, due to an electrical short circuit.
The fire spread to entire pump house quickly and gutted equipment in pump house and caused damage to the building. Three people who were present at the spot when incident occurred, escaped by a hair’s breadth from the flames and thus, a major disaster was averted.
The pump house is a major part of the Yettinahole project and it is alleged that the accident was a result of absence of engineers and lack of maintenance. Senior officials visited spot and conducted an inspection.
