SHIVAMOGGA: Close on the heels of the KPSC recruitment scam in the state, allegations of irregularities in examination of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) have now surfaced.
At the KSOU regional office in Shivamogga, candidates are allowed to write the exam along with their books and mobile phones if money is paid to officials. Video evidences related to the irregularity happening at an exam centre are available with Public TV.

Till now, irregularities that were happening to get government posts have now shifted to examination system cto get a graduate/post-graduate degree. If money is given, mass copying can be done along with mobile phones and books at the regional office of Karnataka State Open University near Alkola Circle in Shivamogga.

Exams started from October 7 and will go on till November 20. But, mass copying is being allowed by taking money. In this exam centre, two types of arrangements are made. Students who gave money write the exam on the second floor, while for those who did not give money, arrangement is made to write the exam on first floor. Visuals of students looking into books and mobile phones are available with Public TV.

It is alleged that the regional director B M Swamy himself has collected the money through the staff including SDC Vinaya K J, Ninga Nayak, Attender Yogesh Gowda and Data Entry Operator Harish. It is said that money is being taken from students at rate of Rs 1,000 per subject, and after the exam, the money is collected from about 70 to 100 students per day through PhonePe and GooglePay. This also has been recorded in some videos.

As soon as Public TV exposed the exam irregularity, regional director B M Swamy completely denied the allegations. He said all these videos are AI-generated. “We have not done any kind of irregularity. We have not even let small chit inside. We have conducted exam strictly”, he justified.
Students have demanded that senior officials of the university and higher education conduct an inquiry and unearth truth. Legal action should be taken against the guilty and justice should be given to honest students who study hard and write exam, they demanded.
