BENGALURU: After the Karnataka High Court ordered that the historic Gali Anjaneyaswamy Temple be handed back to the trust purview, the administration is planning to bring some changes in the temple administration to prevent any malpractice.

The Karnataka High Court recently cancelled an order issued by state government to take over the historic Gali Anjaneyaswamy Temple located at Byatarayanapura on Mysuru Road by the Endowments Department and ruled that the temple be run under the Trust purview. The temple administration has expressed happiness over the court’s order and decided to bring new rules to prevent any sort of malpractice.

After the Hundi money theft case, the state government had issued an order on July 8, 2025, handing over temple to Muzrai Department custody. Questioning this decision, the temple administration had approached the High Court. Finally, the order has come in favour of the administration.

The temple trust has been decided to install more CCTV cameras for additional vigilance in counting Hundi money and to inform publicly through meeting about jewels given by devotees to temple. The income of the temple should also be discussed once a year and it has also been decided to conduct meetings, including devotees, about temple development work once every two-three months.

There are 11 trustees of the temple, and any trustees taking gifts or offerings and other items offered to the temple is completely banned and instruction has been given to keep intense vigil about this. The temple administration has come forward to take necessary steps so that some lapses that happened in shrine earlier do not recur.
