Children, parents appeal to CM Shivakumar seeking repair of roads

BENGALURU: Roads in Mahadevapura and Anekal limits are now making news at the national level as they have reached a worse condition than remote villages. If it rains, the condition of two-wheeler riders is terrible. Now, schoolchildren who travel daily on this road and suffer daily have appealed to Chief Minister D K Shivakumar to get the roads repaired.

Roads in areas around Varthur, Gunjur, Doddammara Rayasandra and surrounding areas are in a terrible condition and people are finding it difficult to commute. Just a few days ago, the pathetic condition of roads in this area had created a situation where schoolchildren were stuck in traffic and struggling, and it made news across the country.

The rain pouring for the last few days has again exposed the pitiful condition of the roads in these areas which has IT parks and tens of prestigious schools. Videos and photos of big potholes and waterlogged roads were shared widely on social media and school buses could be seen wobbling.

Even though this has been the situation for many days, the local MLAs and ministers have still not paid attention to this. Due to the hardship they experience daily while going to school, young children themselves have appealed to Chief Minister D K Shivakumar. “While travelling daily in school bus, there are many problems. Our friends are getting injured due to potholes on road. Please get our road repaired soon”, they have appealed.

Children going to school in the morning are coming back with injuries in the bus due to bad condition of road. Along with that, more time is being wasted in traffic and it is affecting mental condition of children as well. Besides, dust, long hours of travel are potholes is also having serious impact on children’s health. Children return home daily under stress after school hours, and their condition has created anxiety for parents also.

Parents have also appealed to government to repair roads at least from the point of view of future of their children.The dilapidated roads have become a cause for anxiety from little children to parents. Children themselves have shared pain about daily hellish torture, and it remains to be seen whether at least now government will wake up from sleep.
