BENGALURU: Despite several measures taken by the government to ensure compliance with traffic rules in the state, traffic violations have not been curbed. The government is gearing up to put strictly deal with the unchecked breaking of rules.

Though the government is taking strict action for compliance of traffic rules along with ensuring safety, some people are throwing traffic rules to the wind and posing a danger to other vehicle users. The traffic police department had earlier submitted a proposal to the Transport department to increase fines for vehicle users who break the one-way rule and two-wheeler riders who ride on footpaths. The government has agreed to the proposal and revision of fines will happen soon. Not only these, there is also a plan to further increase fines for violations like signal jumping, triple riding, drunk driving, rash driving, etc.
