BENGALURU: A BTech dropout, who became a hi-tech thief, committing crimes across several states, has been arrested by the Wilson Garden police in connection with a theft case reported in August.
Born and brought up in Andhra Pradesh, Nenavat Vinod Kumar became a Bangladeshi citizen and has committed theft in more than 30 houses including Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka to fund his lavish lifestyle.
Vinod used to come by flight to commit theft and return by flight. He had given money to his wife in Delhi and had again come to Bengaluru for theft when he was nabbed by the city police at the airport.
Nenavat Vinod Kumar is originally from Hyderabad of Andhra Pradesh and was arrested in a theft case while studying B.Tech. He was in jail for one year and after his release from jail, he had joined work in a saloon. At that time, he fell in love with Bangladeshi girl working there.
The two fell in love, got married and went to Bangladesh where they were living for about nine years and Vinod also got citizenship there. Later, he got a fake passport and went to Italy and Germany where he worked as a cook.
But none of this gave him satisfaction as he was not getting enough money. Then, he made house theft his full-time profession. Last year, Vinod came back to India via Nepal through the illegal route.
