TUMAKURU: A newly-married couple died in a hit-and-run accident near Dwaralu bridge in Sira taluk on Tuesday. The deceased were identified as Darshan (25) and Usha. The couple was from Hunisekatte village in Sira taluk and had got married just one-and-a-half months ago.
On Tuesday, while they were going towards Bengaluru on a two-wheeler, an unidentified vehicle knocked them down. Due to impact of collision, Darshan died on the spot while an injured Usha Rani died midway while being taken to hospital.
A case has been registered in Tavarekere police station in this regard and efforts are on to identify the killer vehicle and its driver.
