BENGALURU: The Shivajinagar police have arrested nine including the main accused Punya Naik a.k.a. Punyesh in connection with eggs being thrown at BJP leader and Harihar MLA B P Harish, on Wednesday.
BJP cadres protested before the Congress office in Bengaluru against the protest led by Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence in Delhi. On the other hand, Congress workers also staged a protest in front of the BJP office in Bengaluru following which they were detained.

Among the other arrested are Noorullah, Harish and Shoaib. The police arrested Punyesh late on Wednesday night. The accused had brought eggs in a box. Police are questioning where the eggs were brought from and are investigating whether the attack was a pre-planned act.
The police are also probing who directed Punyesh to throw eggs and if there were other people with him. A total of nine people have been arrested so far and further investigation is under way.
