Infant mauled to death by stray dogs in Sindhanur village

RAICHUR: Stray dogs attacked a 1.5-year-old child, who was playing in front of the house, at K Hanchikal Camp in Sindhanur taluk. The child, who was seriously injured, died later.

Anan, an 18-month-old baby girl, had just woken up from sleep and went outside when 6-7 stray dogs suddenly attacked her. The dogs dragged the child and bit her mercilessly.

The little girl, who was seriously injured, died despite treatment. A case has been registered at Sindhanur Rural police station. Villagers have urged authorities to curb the menace of stray dogs.

Newlywed lawyer dies in farm pond

A newly-married lawyer died after going to swim in an agricultural pond at Umaloote village in Sindhanur taluk, Raichur. The deceased is 30-year-old Hanif from Umaloote village.

He went to swim in the agricultural pond and got stuck in the mud and died. Not knowing about the mud in the pond, he jumped into the pond to swim. He got trapped in the mud and, unable to swim, died. On learning about it, villagers came to the spot and retrieved the body .A case has been registered at Turavihal police station.
