BELAGAVI: Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi addressed a range of political and administrative issues, including cabinet expansion, leadership discussions, and ongoing investigations.
Speaking to the media in Belagavi, Jarkiholi said there has been speculation about a cabinet expansion for some time. “There is a saying — it will happen sooner or later”, he said.
On reports that senior Congress leader BK Hariprasad may be inducted as a minister, he added, “I don’t know about it. The high command will decide.”
Highlighting the size of Belagavi, Jarkiholi said that the district should be given more representation in the cabinet. “Belagavi is a big district. It should be given three ministerial positions. It would be good if that happens,” he said.

He clarified that no one from the district has made any direct approaches yet. ‘Whoever is to be chosen will be decided keeping in mind who will benefit the party in the next elections,” he added.
Reacting to speculation that CM may take up an organisational role in the party, Jarkiholi said the party has maintained the same stand from the beginning. “We have been saying this all along. Everyone says it. He will be there for the 2028 elections, and we will go to the elections under his leadership,” he said.
On discussions around Ahinda leadership, he said there was no need for excessive debate. “It will become known in due course. There is no need to highlight it so much,” he said. AHINDA is the Kannada acronym for Alpasankhyataru, Hindulidavaru, and Dalitaru (minorities, OBCS, SCs).
On the demand to increase milk prices, Jarkiholi said the concerned minister should visit and take a call. “If it is not being addressed, the minister should come. A decision will be taken after that,” he said.
Responding to allegations that the SIR process is being misused, he said the exercise is going on smoothly and will be completed on time. “The Election Commission is there in Delhi. If they are informed, they will investigate. Let them specify what the problem is. A complaint has already been filed,” he said.
Commenting on the alleged theft at the Ram Mandir hundi, Jarkiholi called it a serious matter. “Hundi theft is a serious issue and should be investigated. An investigation is already underway. Whoever is guilty should face action in accordance with the law,” he said.
He also remarked on RSS statements, saying, “No matter what the RSS says, it will not come out. It will remain secret.” (ANI)
