BELAGAVI: Due to heavy rain in the Western Ghats region, there has been a power supply problem in Kanakumbi village in Khanapur taluk for the past 15 days.
Villagers took Hescom officials to task as daily life has been thrown into disarray due to lack of power supply. Villagers demanded that underground power cables should be laid for villages on the fringes of the forest.
The villagers also urged for the establishment of a electricity distribution centre in Kanakumbi.
