BELAGAVI: The police had to resort to mild lathicharge to disperse youths who had thronged a textile store for a launch offer of one T-shirt for Re 1 in Mudalagi town on Sunday.
The offer was for one hour during the inauguration of Majestic Store, a textile shop in Mudalagi town where one T-shirt was being offered for Re 1. Hearing about the offer, a huge crowd of youths thronged in thousands in front of the shop.
There was a stampede-like situation to buy T-shirts, and the shop’s decorative glass was destroyed. The Mudalagi police resorted to mild lathicharge to disperse the youths.
