BAGALKOT: A group of seven miscreants brutally assaulted a college student for allegedly stepping on someone’s foot while travelling in a bus. The incident occurred a few days ago in Kandagal village of Ilkal taluk and videos of the assault have now gone viral.
A student named Chethan Kumar Godi was assaulted by Nazeer Khazi, Mohammad Bhagavan, Viresh Maski, Mallu Tarival, Vinod Hadapad, Mantesh Karikanti, and Appu Chitragar with a pipe and hands. The miscreants assaulted him while recording a video.
Even though Chethan pleaded saying it was a mistake, the miscreants brutally assaulted the innocent student. They called him to the Paramanand Temple on the outskirts of the village and assaulted him brutally. After the video went viral, Chethan’s father Mantesh Godi was shocked to see the assault on his son.
Based on the video, Chethan’s father Mahanthesh filed a case at Ilkal Rural police station against the seven miscreants on June 28. Even though three days have passed since the case was registered, Ilkal Rural Police have not taken action. The father has demanded action against those who assaulted his son and displayed goonda behavior.
