Rs 2.98 crore unaccounted money found in Kurubarahalli godown

BENGALURU: Unaccounted cash of Rs 2.98 crore was in a godown at at 11th Cross, Kurubarahalli on July 2. The police are ascertaining the source of the cash and have alerted the Income Tax authorities and the Enforcement Directorate.

The police, who were on night rounds received information about the money on June 2. When the police went to the spot, they found Rs 2.98 crore kept in cement bags at a cement godown.

During verification, it was found that the money belonged to two individuals named T M Nagaraj and B B Venkatesh. When asked for information about the money, the accused did not provide any proper documents regarding the cash, but claimed it was to be deposited in a bank.

Therefore, both were arrested and interrogated. The Mahalakshmi Layout police, have registered a case and are investigating the source of the money. They and have also informed ED and IT officials.
