Aliya Assadi, one of hijab protester, Girl who filed a petition on hijab ban

UDUPI: Following by the Supreme Court’s split verdict in the hijab case on Thursday, one of the pro-hijab protesters, Aliya Assadi, has welcomed Justice Sudanshu Dhulia’s views on the issue.

In a tweet, she stated, “This judgement upheld the rights of victims girls. Hon’ble Justice Dhulia’s statement has further strengthen our hope in fair judgement and continued constitutional value atleast in minuscule. Thousand of hijabis students are waiting resume their education” (SIC).

Aliya Assadi was a student of Government Girl’s Pre-University College, Udupi. The pro-hijab protesters, led by Aliya, had not appeared before media after the Karnataka High Court gave its judgment on March 15.

In the view of the split verdict by the Supreme Court, the matter will now be placed before a larger bench.
