BENGALURU: New clinical trials at HCG Hospital in the city have been banned for two years after the institution was found to be violating norms governing such trials.
The hospital’s licence for conducting clinical trials were suspended for two years by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation and the Ethics Committee over violations of rules in clinical trial experiments.
There were allegations that clinical trials were being conducted like a scam in violation of patient safety rules. The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation had investigated the claims and after wrongdoing were in the investigation, new trials have been banned.
