DHARWAD: The Garag circle police inspector, Shivayogi Lohar, has been placed under suspension for dereliction of duty in the alleged love jihad case involving a minor. The suspension order was issued by Police Superintendent Gunjan Arya.
After the minor girl committed suicide, her parents had alleged that the police had attempted to strike a compromise between the two sides. Two of the accused had also been arrested. On Friday, the Bajrang Dal activists had staged a protest demanding action against the police officers involved.
