UDUPI: A one-and-a-half-year-old infant died in his mother’s lap after a coconut fell on the toddler at Chantaru Heranjalu village in Brahmavar taluk. The deceased child was identified as Daksha.
A coconut suddenly fell on the infant’s head while he was sleeping in his mother’s lap, causing severe injury. With the help of locals, the child was immediately admitted to Manipal Hospital. Despite surgery, the child did not respond to treatment and died.
The deceased infant was the second son of couple Prashanth and Suchitra. The entire village is mourning the untimely death. The Brahmavar police conducted an inspection and registered a case.
