BELAGAVI: A circle police inspector attached to the state disaster response force (SDRF) committed suicide by hanging at his residence at Chennamma Nagar here on Thursday morning. The deceased was identified as Shrishail Chougula (37).
Upon noticing Shrishail hanging, his wife alerted his subordinates who broke open the bedroom door and shifted him to hospital. However, Shrishail had died by then.
The motive for suicide was not immediately known and Shrishail’s death has led to several suspicions. The Udyambhag police visited the spot and shifted the body to BIMS hospital for post-mortem examination.
