Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot likely to return today ahead of Vice-President’s visit

BENGALURU: Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, who rushed to his hometown Nagda in Madhya Pradesh late on Wednesday night, is likely to return to Bengaluru on Thursday itself as Vice President C P Radhakrishnan is arriving in the state on Friday.

The Governor was in Nagda, Indore, on Thursday amid the political developments in the state. He travelled to Indore via Mumbai due to his wife’s illness. The Governor left Bengaluru Airport at 11.45 pm on Wednesday and travelled to Indore by a 7 am flight. It is said that the Governor travelled without taking protocol assistance for the late-night journey.

Governor Gehlot is scheduled to depart from Indore by a special flight at 5 pm and is expected arrive in Bengaluru around 7.30. Gehlot also spoke with Siddaramaiah on Wednesday afternoon and will meet him again on Friday when he will accept the resignation.

For now, status quo continues as the dissolution of the Cabinet has not happened officially. Siddaramaiah’s resignation will be accepted on Friday when he meets the Governor again.
