Police chief directs force to be on alert for illegal Bangladeshi immigrants after change in Bengal govt

BENGALURU: In the light of the change of government change in West Bengal, the Bengaluru police suspect that illega Bangladeshi immigrants could be heading towards Bengaluru.

City Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh has instructed all officers and local police to stay alert to any influx of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants to the city. The Intelligence department has provided information on the possibility of illegal migrants coming to Karnataka. Hence, the police commissioner has instructed to maintain strict surveillance.

Instructions given to keep watch on illegal migrants and to keep an eye on people newly arriving and settling in the city. Search operations for Bangla migrants are already under way in every police station jurisdiction and police are tracing and sending them back.

Already more than 240 people have been deported. The police commissioner has instructed to continue the same vigil now.
