Byrathi Basavaraj likely to approach Supreme Court after spl court reject anticipatory bail

BENGALURU: After BJP MLA Byrathi Basavaraj’s anticipatory bail petition in the Biklu Shiva murder case was rejected by a special court for elected representatives, the CID has issued a lookout notice through Interpol, and three teams are searching for him in other states.

Basavaraj has been missing for five days and CID teams are looking for him in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Goa. His mobile phone is switched off and his family members and close associates are not reachable.

With the possibility of arrest increasing, Basavaraj is likely approach the Supreme Court or even as his team is holding discussions on whether to surrender.

An intensive search is under way for Byrathi Basavaraj, who is at an undisclosed location and there is speculation on whether the MLA will continue to look for legal remedies.

With the CID hot on his heels, his lawyers are discussing whether to file an appeal in the High Court or in the Supreme Court.
