TUMAKURU: A 25-year-old man, identifieed as Madhuvan (25), was brutally murdered by a real estate businessman and his associate over a land dispute at a farm in Kallambella of Sira taluk.
The accused Mahesh and Shafiullah allegedly killed Madhuvan with a machete at a farm over a 2.2-acre land worth Rs 3 crore near Amanikere in Tumakuru. The dispute began when Madhuvan’s father Narayanaswamy sold the land to Mahesh in 2015.
The issue was complicated by document issues, which took three years to resolve. After resolution in 2018, Madhuvan opposed the sale, leading to frequent clashes with Mahesh. On Thursday, Mahesh and Madhuvan met to discuss the issue and a scuffle ensued, resulting in Madhuvan’s murder.
A case has been registered at Kallambella police station and the police are on the lookout for the killers.
