KOLAR: A 25-year-old man lost his left hand after he fell on the tracks while trying to board a moving train at Bangarpet railway station around 7.30 am on Friday. Incidentally, Friday was the last Amavasya (new moon day) of the year.
The victimSandeep, hailing from Chikkahosahalli village, was trying to board the Marikuppam-Bengaluru train even as it was moving when he fell on to the tracks and his left hand was severed. He was rushed to Bangarpet government hospital for treatment.
Sandeep was heading to Bengaluru when the incident occurred. He suffered severe blood loss, but survived. The Bangarpet railway police have registered a case and are investigating.
