The cement mixer, which had brought concrete for moulding work at a nearby house, touched a power line and pulled it down, causing the wall of the house to collapse on Pranav, who was playing in the compound.

The child was rushed to the hospital, but was declared dead on arrival. The police have registered a case and are investigating the incident. The driver of the lorry has fled the scene.

Pranav was the son of Siddappa and Lavanya. The child’s mother is grief-stricken and is mourning the loss of her only son. The body was shifted to the Bowring Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.
