BENGALURU: A drunk man attempted to steal from a bakery at Nandi Swara Bakery at 2nd Block in Thyagaraj Nagar around 4 am on Wednesday and was arrested later on.
Madan Kumar, the accused, was trying to break into the bakery’s lock using a cement block. Passersby noticed the incident and caught the thief. They dialed the Hoysala police at 112 and informed them about the incident.
The Hoysala police, who were on patrol duty, arrived at the spot and took the accused into custody. During questioning, the accused claimed that he committed the crime as he was hungry. The accused, Madan Kumar, claimed to be a resident of Balegere. The incident occurred within the Basavanagudi police station’s jurisdiction.
