BENGALURU: A woman attempted suicide by jumping off the third floor of her building allegedly due to her husband’s torture. She suffered severe injuries to her spine and legs and is currently undergoing treatment at Ambedkar Hospital.
The woman was identified as Priya. She and her husband Nixon had been love married for seven years. He was torturing her for not bearing children despite being married for so many years. After receiving appropriate treatment, the couple had recently welcomed a baby girl.
Even after the child was born, he would come drunk every day and assault his wife, telling her to go somewhere and die. Fed up with this, the woman attempted suicide by jumping from the third floor of the house where she lived.
A case has been registered against the husband Nixon at the Banawadi police station
