KARWAR: A man who sexually assaulted a seven-year-old girl was caught by locals and handed over to police. The incident occurred at Gundolli village in Haliyal taluk.
The accused is 32-year-old Hussainsab Shakilsab Makandar. A divorcee living alone, he used to lure young girls and sexually harass them. On Friday night, he lured a 7-year-old girl from near his house to his home and sexually assaulted her.
When the girl screamed, local residents immediately caught him and handed him over to police. A case has been registered at the Haliyal police station in connection with the incident.
