BIDAR: An elderly man, identified as Bheemanna Lingappa (75) was killed in a hit-and-run accident near Kumbharwada on the outskirts of Bidar on Thursday.
Lingappa was heading back home after using the restroom and going for a walk when he was hit from behind by a speeding car. The impact was so severe that the elderly man died on the spot.
The incident was captured on a CCTV camera and the horrific scene showed the old man being thrown into the air and falling down. The body has been sent to BRIMS Hospital, where family members are protesting, demanding justice.
The car (KA-38-M-9727) fled the scene after the accident. A case has been registered at the Bidar traffic police station regarding this incident and the police are trying to locate the vehicle and the driver.
