RAICHUR: A pregnant woman gave birth to a baby girl on the platform of Raichur railway station while travelling from Bengaluru to Yadgir by Basava Express train on Wednesday.
Due to severe labour pains, Manjamma and her family got off at the Raichur railway station and called the 108 emergency ambulance service. The ambulance crew helped her deliver the baby on the platform around 12.30 am.
Both the mother and the baby are healthy and were shifted to Raichur Mother and Child Hospital for further care. The timely intervention of the 108 crew, including Bheemappa and driver Mushtaq, was appreciated by the family and the public.
