Tigers spotted on Mysuru outskirts, Gundlupet residential area

MYSURU, CHAMARAJANAGAR: Tigers have been spotted close to human habitation near Mysuru and Gundlupet in Chamarajanagara district in separate instances.

A tiger was spotted on the sprawling campus of the Rare Materials Plant (RMP) at Rattehalli near Yelwal in Mysuru taluk. The campus is spread over hundreds of acres and the tiger was spotted in a forested area. The RMP campus is beside the highway leading from Mysuru to Hunsur and Madikeri and the tiger was spotted by some motorists.

A tiger was captured on CCTV camera installed at a house at Nisarga Layout in Gundlupet on the Sultan Battery road, moving around in the locality. The house owner immediately informed the Forest department. Residents of the locality now fear stepping out of their houses till the tiger is captured and relocated.
