BELAGAVI: A 15-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by three youths, including two minors, at a resort on the outskirts of the city a week ago. While two of the accused have been arrested, the police are on the lookout for one of the minors.
According to the police, who registered a case under the POCSO Act, one Sakeeb had booked a room at the resort. One of the minors, who is a friend of the victim, took her to the resort where Sakeeb and the two minors raped her.
Upon returning home, the girl complained of stomach pain following which her mother took her to a hospital. It was then that the gangrape was revealed. A case was registered at the Tilakwadi police station and later transferred to the Market police station by police commissioner Iada Martin Marbaniang.
The third accused in the case, whom the police are on the lookout for, is said to be the son of a police officer. He is abscondng ever since a case was registered.
