ANEKAL: Three people, who were on two-wheelers, were injured severely after a rogue elephant attacked them on the main road connecting Anekal and Harohalli near the Tattekere forest area.
The wild elephant had been causing trouble for the past three days, but the forest officials had failed to take action. Vehicle users are now scared to use the road following the attack.
Locals claim that they informed the forest officials about the elephant’s aggressive behaviour, but no action was taken. The elephant’s attack was even recorded on video by locals. Forest officials eventually arrived at the scene and tried to drive the elephant back into the forest.
The injured persons were admitted to a private hospital for treatment. A herd of elephants remains a threat, as it has made the roadside its habitat, refusing to move into the forest.
