TIRUPPUR (Tamil Nadu): Three people, including two siblings, were killed after the car they were travelling in collided with a lorry at Avinashi in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruppur on Saturday, police said. The accident tool place near Palangarai village in the early hours today.
Among the deceased are two sisters identified as Aparna (26) and Hema (21), and Manish (28). Avinashi police said that the car was on its way to Coimbatore from Bengaluru when it collided with a lorry which was parked on a roadside due to fuel shortage.
Following the incident, police and fire rescue teams undertook a rescue operation. All the bodies have been sent to Avinashi Government Hospital (GH) for post-mortem examination. Police have registered a case and started an investigation. (ANI)
