CHIKKABALLAPUR: The Gauribidanur police have arrested three employees of a delivery services company who had looted Rs 4.5 lakh from the firm’s office and pretended that it was a theft.

The arrested Sudarshan, Mahesh and Manjunath had entered the office of Ecom Express online delivery services at 1.30 am on Monday and took away Rs 4.5 lakh cash which was kept in the locker after disconnecting the CCTV camera.

They had their faces covered with monkeycaps, wore gloves and even spilled chilli powder to erase any trace of evidence. However, the CCTV camera had captured images of the shutter being opened and one person entering the office before it goes blank.

The thief can be seen disconnecting the CCTV camera.

The trio called up their manager Bhaskar at 4.30 am and informed him about the ‘theft’. However, during questioning, they spilled the beans to the police.
