BENGALURU: The district unit of the Karnataka State Child Labour Eradication Project Society and the Women and Child Development Department officials have rescued 22 child labourers who were working in hotels over the last 15 days. This follows several complaints of child labour being employed in hotels in the city.

The authorities conducted raids on several places including Bannerghatta, Sarjapura, Anekal and Hebbagodi and rescued the children. They were later sent to the Nimhans child care centre.

Most of the rescued children are in the age group of 8-10 years. The authorities have sought for increased awareness about child labour and beggary and atrocities on women and children.
