BIDAR: A 2,000-year-old Buddha idol was found while digging in an empty farm land at Yanagunda village in Aurad taluk in the district.
The statue was slightly disfigured and the villagers had kept it away safely as it was slightly damaged. As soon as they received information, officials of the Archaeology Department visited the site and began gathering information about the idol.
Villagers appealed to the authorities that efforts should be made to inform the next generation of the Buddha idol.
