MANDYA: Amidst attempts by Hindu groups to take out the ‘Srirangapatna Chalo’ rally, which was thwarted by the police, two men managed to gain entry into the Jamia Masjid and offer prayers to Lord Hanuman. A video of their act has since gone viral.

Speaking about this, leaders of Hindu groups said prayers were offered at the Moodalabagilu Anjaneya temple inside the masjid complex. “The two men chanted Hanuman Chalisa. This is our first win in our long battle which we are sure to win”, they said.

They also chanted slogans saying that this is not the end of the ‘Srirangapatna Chalo’ agitation. “It will go on till the temple is handed to our control. We will rebuild the Moodalabagilu Anjaneya temple”, the said.

“If our demand is not met by June-end, Hanuman devotees from all across the state will come to this temple. The madrasa running inside the protected monument must be vacated. Otherwise, we will do it without notice and the district administration will be responsible for any untoward incident”, they warned.
