19 International passengers have tested Covid positive in KIA

The samples of nineteen international passengers have been sent to a genomic sequencing laboratory, and the Health Department is waiting for the results. The random Covid test is going on as per the central guidelines. The Health Department can easily access data on international passengers arriving directly at the KIA. But many international passengers come through connecting flights and their data is difficult to access.

Meanwhile, BMTC bus drivers and conductors have started to compulsorily wear masks and the transport utility has urged passengers to wear masks too. The hotel association has decided to follow state guidelines and has started taking precautionary measures. Customers will be provided with hot water for drinking and a compulsory vaccination certificate has to be submitted.

Tushar Giri Nath, BBMP Chief Commissioner

“We are discussing with the state health department about the samples sent to the genomic sequencing laboratory. We are collecting information about international passengers who have tested positive”, said BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Giri Nath.
