Chitradurga court extends judicial custody of Murugha Mutt seer till Sept 27

CHITRADURGA: A Chitradurga court has extended the judicial custody of Murugha Mutt seer Shivamurthy Murugha Sharanaru by another 14 days till September 27. The 14-day judicial custody of the seer was to end on Wednesday.

The seer was produced before the court.

The seer, who has been accused of sexual harassment by two inmates of the hostel run by the mutt, has been booked under the POCSO Act. Earlier in the day, he was brougth to the court from the district jail by the police.

The hostel warden, who is the second accused, was also produced before the court.

Both the main accused seer, and the second accused, the woman warden of the hostel, were produced before the court. The judicial custody of the Accused No. 2, the warden also ended on Wednesday.

The seer was escorted back to the district jail.

After the court extended the judicial custody of the seer, the police escorted him back to the district jail where he will be lodged till September 27.
