BENGALURU: YouTuber Sameer MD, in the eye of a storm over the alleged Dharmasthala mass burial case, seemingly taught the police a technical lesson during the interrogation, questioning them about their understanding of disclaimers on YouTube channels. He pointed out that he had included disclaimers in most of his videos, while explaining how he created AI videos.

Sameer provided the police with newspaper clippings, articles and YouTube links on the first day of his questioning on Monday. On the second day on Tuesday, he explained technical points about how YouTube channels work and the role of disclaimers.

He reportedly turned the tables on the police, asking them where he had gone wrong and what he had done incorrectly. Sameer also questioned the police about why they were targeting him specifically, when others who had commented or spoken about the same topic on YouTube, hadn’t faced similar action.

He also questioned the SIT if they have filed cases against all of them. “Have you interrogated all of them? Have you taken action against them? Why is there no action against them, but action against me? I have created a video by compiling what people said and wrote, and what they have spoken in speeches. Why am I being picked on?” he questioned.

He emphasized that he had included disclaimers in his videos and that he had compiled content from others’ speeches and writings to create his videos. Sameer’s responses during the interrogation seemed to be a challenge for the police regarding the technical aspects of YouTube and the use of disclaimers.
