Youth sustains serious burn injuries in LPG cylinder blast

BENGALURU: A youth suffered serious burn injuries after a LPG cylinder burst at his house Garvebavipalya in Bommanahalli on Wednesday. Ankit Raj, hailing from Bihar and aged about 24, sustained about 65 per cent burns and is undergoing treatment at a hospital.

It is said that the LPG cylinder in the house was leaking and burst when Ankit tried to light the stove for cooking. Due to the impact of the blast, household items were strewn in the house and flew into neighbouring houses. Window panes of the other houses were also damaged.

Neighbouring houses also sustained damage.

The building belongs to one Padmavathi and Ankit where was staying with a few other bachelors in one of the apartments. He is being treated at Prashanth Hospital in Bommanahalli. The fire brigade and the Begur police personnel visited the spot.
