BENGALURU: A youth was robbed by his own friends, who were with him and had hired some goons to extort money and valuables from him.
Chandan is from a financially well-off family. The incident occurred when Chandan’s friends Pavan and Achal invited him to a pub on May 1, where they had a party together. Later, they took Chandan on a joyride towards the airport, where two bike-borne people attacked them and robbed Chandan of gold worth Rs 3 lakh and cash.
Pavan and Achal persuaded Chandan not to file a police complaint, but Chandan’s suspicions led him to report the incident a week later. The police investigation revealed that Pavan and Achal are the masterminds behind the robbery and hired people to steal.
A case has been registered at the Chikkajala police station, and the police have launched a manhunt for the accused.
