Santosh, an eyewitness, said, “I was going on Kengeri Road at 8.45pm yesterday. The three youths came on a bike and overtook me. The rider was popping wheelies and speeding. Since the headlight of the scooter was not falling on the road, they may have directly into the pit without seeing the barricades which were ahead. We lifted them up and took them to a hospital. One of the youths lost his life to bike stunts. The water board had put up barricades, but the rider was overspeeding and crashed through the barricade”.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic-West) Anitha B Haddannavar said, “The three youths who were on the scooter crashed through the barricade and fell into the pit.
