DAVANAGERE: A youth died due to electrocution while cutting a tree branch in Jagalur taluk in the district on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Shivakumar (18).
The incident took place when he went to fetch fodder for the goats when it was raining. A branch of a tree fell on an live electric wire, cutting it, resulting in him getting electrocuted.
The villagers claimed that Shivakumar did not survive as the Bescom lineman did not reach the spot on time even after receiving information, they alleged.
