BENGALURU: The Bengaluru Central Youth Congress unit has launched a poster campaign ridiculing the JD(S) padayatra on the Bidadi Township issue. Congress workers pasted posters on the walls and gate of JD(S) headquarters JP Bhavan with Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy’s photo and a caption which read ‘Hottettu kicchina sumar koli’ (A jealous hen).
One of the posters said, “No matter who from the Vokkaliga community comes to power, this hen will get jealous”. A chicken’s image was paired with Kumaraswamy’s photo. Another poster read, “First give up your benami properties, then talk about farmers”. Another poster asked, “Is the Bidadi protest a fight to protect your benami assets?” A poster also mocked Kumaraswamy with the caption “U-turn Kumar?”
Following the incident, the JD(S) has moved forward with legal action and its legal cell has filed a complaint at the Srirampura police station. The complaint was lodged by JD(S) legal cell state general secretary Pradeep Kumar.
The complaint was filed with video evidence against those who pasted the posters. About 4-5 people had pasted posters on the JP Bhavan gate late on Monday night. The Srirampura police have registered an FIR and launched an investigation.
