BENGALURU: A couple hailing from Uttar Pradesh committed suicide in Bengaluru after a minor misunderstanding over unanswered phone calls.
The deceased have been identified as Dhara Samshuka and Dipendra Kumar.
Police sources said the two were in love with each other. A week ago, Dhara Samshuka’s mobile was switched off and Dipendra Kumar thought that her parents had taken her back to their hometown in Uttar Pradesh.
Later, the distressed Dipendra Kumar committed suicide after writing a death note.
Dhara Samshuka came to know about her boyfriend’s suicide two days later. She had not gone to Uttar Pradesh and was in Bengaluru itself.
Following her boyfriend’s death, Dhara Samshuka jumped off a building and committed suicide.
A minor miscommunication between the duo led to their deaths. A case has been registered at Marathahalli police station.
